One of the most important elements used in
the treatment of sound are the frequency equalizers. These elements fulfill the
mission of altering the linearity of response of a sound chain. The passive
equalizer is one in which no component that involves signal amplification
(valves, transistors, etc.) is involved. By the frequency zone in which the
equalizers operate, they are divided into low, medium and high frequency. The
nominal frequency point is the maximum boost-attenuation they produce over a
given frequency.
